Over the past 3 years I have tagged along with The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence.. I found a major connection with this group of men and women, over a connection with the Drag Queen Community.. I felt that with my character, I had more to offer at events that The Sisters do, rather than late night performances in clubs or bars. Over the years I have become very close friends with MANY of the Sisters in San Francisco and world wide. I felt that they deserved a place on my website, as I have thousands of photos and stories to share from events and gatherings. They truly are part of The Land Of Make Believe and Reality.. a good mix for this Queen.
Who are those clowns with the boobs on the heads you are always with? Why do you hang out with those mail Geishas? What is up with you and The Sisters? ARE YOU A SISTER? WHY ARE'NT YOU A SISTER? When I arrived in San Francisco in 2012, I had never seen or heard of The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence. My 1st sighting was in December 2012. I had been invited to take part in "Queens On Ice" in Union Square, San Francisco. When I arrived I saw this angelic, tall, white face, white gown, white headpiece, white boa, sparkling creation, whom I was introduced to, Sister Roma of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. What a great name for a group I thought! Throughout the evening I met a few others and then I was informed on what, why, when, where and so forth on WHO they were. Now I will share it with you: The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® is a leading-edge Order of queer nuns. Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty and we use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.
